Helping Preserve Iconic Cinema

The Film Preservation & Restoration Workshop India 2017 (FPRWI 2017) is an initiative of Film Heritage Foundation and The International Federation of Film Archives in association with prestigious global bodies, to provide training in the specialised skills required to safeguard India’s cinematic heritage. This year, the workshop was held from October 7 and 11 in Chennai, to awaken the South Indian film industry that has lost so much of its incredible history.

Design Stack has been associated with FPRWI since its inception, and developed various collaterals for the event, beginning with a book that detailed every aspect of the workshop, containing messages from many cinematic greats.

In its sensibility, the book and associated collateral focused on a number of iconic South Indian films, which lent itself to a vibrant, bright colour palette.

We designed a complete kit for each participant, consisting of an invitation, the book, posters, giveaways, and a bag into which all these materials went. We also created the workshop venue graphics, hoardings, and stage design.
